William J Posters is one of the most notorious criminals of the 21st century. He is wanted by Interpol as well as other national crime fighting agencies. His crimes are so heinous that they are never actually reported, in an effort to save the public from the full shock of their nature.
Thought to have been born in the USA in the 1950's, William (or Bill to his associates) is thought to have been active in most English speaking countries, including the UK, USA, Australia and even the remote and desolate backwater of New Zealand. Always one step ahead of the authorities, he has so far been able to evade capture.
There is some controversy regarding his status as a crime figure, as no charges have never been bought against him. Liberals have claimed that he is a government whistleblower and not actually a criminal at all. He has been linked with Julian Assange, and fat film maker Michael Moore has expressed an interest in producing a thought-provoking documentary about his life and the US government's effort to curtail his activities.
Through co-operation with many other governments, the USA has been instrumental in a campaign designed to bring him to justice. Instead of the typical 'reward' approach as offered for information which leads to the capture of popular freedom fighter Obama Bin Laden, a very stark notice is issued instead. The government is so convinced of his eventual capture they simple proclaim in a bold typeface the he will be prosecuted.
Typically using the window space of closed down shops and disused advertising hoardings, small notices adorned with 'Bill Posters will be prosecuted' are a common sight. During the recent economic downturn, more and more of these notices have been spotted. Such is the proliferation of these notices, Amnesty International are thought to be looking into Bill Poster's case.
